One of my favorite books: The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo

"The Alchemist" tells the tale of an Andalusian Shepherd boy named Santiago. He journeys into self-discovery and is compelled to search for a treasure hidden near the pyramids of Egypt.

The story touches on a subject that is pretty much universal.
The Law of Attraction.
Everything is possible as long as you really desire for it to happen!
When you really want something to happen, the whole universe conspires so that your wish comes true.
Simple yet powerful, but then again as they say, simple things are the most valuable and only wise people appreciate them.
The story is about fate, destiny and a search for one's own true path.
You will read a meaningful Arabic word which is of great significance to the book:
Maktub. A term which literally means it is written.

Here are my favorite Quotes from "The Alchemist"

The boy didn't know what a person's "destiny" was.
"It's what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what their destiny is. At that point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives. But, as time passes, a mysterious force begins to convince them that it will be impossible for them to realize their destiny... It's a force that appears to be negative, but actually shows you how to realize your destiny. It prepares your spirit and you will, because there is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it's because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It's your mission on earth."
The Alchemist
Old king to Santiago.

The Soul of the World is nourished by people's happiness. And also by unhappiness, envy, and jealousy. To realize one's destiny is a person's only real obligation.
The Alchemist
Old king to Santiago.

When you want something, all the world conspires in helping you to achieve it. Whatever we are, it is because we have made it happen to us or in his golden words "As he mused about these things, he realized that he had to choose between thinking of himself as the poor victim of a thief and as an adventurer in quest of his treasure "

The secret is here in the present. If you pay attention to the present, you can improve upon it. And, if you improve on the present, what comes later will also be better. Forget about the future, and live each day according to the teachings, confident that God loves his children. Each day, in itself, brings with it an eternity.
The Alchemist
The seer to the camel driver.

To die tomorrow was no worse than dying on any other day. Every day was there to be lived or to mark one's departure from this world. Everything depended on one word: "Maktub."
The Alchemist
Santiago reflects on what the camel driver had said.

When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream.
The Alchemist
The alchemist to Santiago, echoing the words of the old king.
